GERMAN MADE ANTIQUE CANDLEABRA DECORATED WITH SCOTTISH FIGURES CIRCA 1860
Fantastic pair of German-made mantle candleabra each with a central figure in Scottish tartan.
Man is in kilt and sporran decorated with a fox head. He's holding something though I cannot determine what that something is. Has been hunting as he is also depicted with his trophy deer. Beautifully painted and detailed. Seems to be some touchup painting on the ferns behind his right leg. Right hand with item appears to maybe have been repaired in the past.
Woman is holding hunting dog and dog has old repairs to both front paws and left ear is missing the tip. Some very minor paint touch ups.
Brackets for candle cups is gilt brass. 2 of the candle cups have heat fractures though both appear stable. Losses to paint and gilding. Prisms may or may not be original to pieces, though most appear genuinely old.
Both about 12" tall and 9" wide.
