ORIGINAL ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MARRIAGE/WEDDING CERTIFICATE LITHOGRAPH
This new-old-stock Victorian marriage certificate has never been used and retains its bright crisp colors from the lithography process.
In beautiful unused antique condition, this certificate would make a wonderful gift for a new couple - and one could have it professionally lettered with all the information.
This item measures 15" inches by 19.5" and as you can see there is a large margin for framing purposes. Printed on heavy paper, it features colorful and metallic inks.
Published by Jennings & Graham (item # 114), this was part of a large group of certificates that was likely set aside from a stationers that closed. There is a beautiful depiction of Cana surrounded by carnations, bells, and geraniums with some ferns. That central image is surrounded by a bit of a biblical verse with a spray of carnations. It also has spaces for information - though one line is lettered for the 19th and 20th centuries by a single digit.
As in all antique paper - there may be some toning or discoloration and the faint whiff of old paper. Because these are fragile - they are shipped in a mylar sleeve with acid-free backing. They will need to be shipped flat as they cannot be rolled due to potential cracking damage.
